DNR is a covered agency under the WV Division of Personnel and is governed by the Administrative Rule. To be considered for employment with DNR, applicants must currently be employed in a covered position and meet the minimum requirements for the advertised position, or tested through the DOP and be listed on the DOP competitive register, or be eligible for reinstatement into a DOP covered position.

  • Registers are competitive and your eligible score will be based on information provided in your application; therefore, make sure your application is detailed and complete.  Include all previous positions and experience gain. You may not think a previous job worked or duties performed relevant, but it can make all the different on your register ranking.

These job postings are not listed on the continuous open positions list and must be requested by agencies through the Division of Personnel when there are 1.) No candidates on the register, or 2.) Few candidates listed but the positions hasn’t been open for application for at least 6-12 months.  Opening a job title up through PSA allows for interested applicants to apply during a special opening period and be placed on the competitive register for consideration.  You can apply for these positions the same as the Continuous Open Positions and follow the same directions and tips.
